Night Fishing Trips

Night fishing is one of my favorite kinds of fishing. Why? Because we catch more fish and bigger fish! There are added benefits of cooler temps, less boat traffic to mess with, and an overall heightened sense of the experience when you fish in the dark. If you have never done it, you really need to give it a shot. It is a lot of fun!

I run night fishing trips in the warmer months, starting in about late May or early June, the post spawn bass start moving out of the shallows and into deeper offshore structure. This is when I like to target them at night. They will stay in this pattern until temps start to cool off again, usually sometime in September.

We typically launch an hour or two before dark and fish around the sunset hours for a bit. Often we will catch a bunch right before dark, but this isn't always the case. Just as in day trips, I will have drinks and snacks and we will go at whatever pace you are comfortable with.

Night fishing trips are especially popular with tournament anglers, as there are many night tournaments during the summer. If you are a tournament angler, or otherwise a serious angler of any kind, you really need to give night fishing a try. Also see my article Night Time is the Right Time for Big Spotted Bass.
